About ChicagoGenealogy.com
In 2003, I launched ChicagoGenealogy.com as an experiment to see if anyone would like my help with "quick, affordable lookups" in the Chicago area. The answer was a resounding "yes." Word of my service spread and to date I have helped over 3000 researchers find Chicago records.
A lot has changed since 2003 and now all but a small group of the records that I used to lookup are online at FamilySearch. That's good news. If you're a researcher, it means that you now have free access to a wonderful collection of Chicago vital records that are searchable in powerful ways that have never before been possible.
For me it means more time to explore new Chicago resources so that I can share what I learn on this site. It also means that I can focus on new endeavors like Genlighten.com, an online marketplace for genealogy research that my husband and I, along with our technical co-founder, launched in 2009. I always try to be just an email away for my ChicagoGenealogy clients and my main role at Genlighten is to provide that same level of customer support. It's very important to us and I enjoy it.
I still do research at the local Family History Center a few days a week and I'm now free to travel downtown to the Circuit Court Archives. I enjoy it.
And what do I do when I'm not working on genealogy-related things? I picked up a fiddle for the first time in 2008 and it has become the delight of my life. I play it every chance I get.
If you have questions about the site or the research that I offer, feel free to email me. I'm always happy to help.
